Now at least we can all agree that his only discernable talent was an ability to sport an all year sun tan and pretend to laugh until he cried.

If he was in such good health what was he doing in hospital?
RIP Des. A very good all-rounder. Liked his talk show back in the day. Used to have a lot of new comedians on who were usually genuinely funny, unlike the cunts calling themselves comedians today.

Couple of nice stories -
Back in 2014, Des revealed the sparring between him and Eric, who died in 1984, continued even throughout the bleakest of times. He told the Daily Mail: "When Eric had his first heart attack in 1968, I was doing a show in front of 2,000.
"I went for a sip of water and the stage manager said, 'Eric Morecambeâs had a heart attack. Heâs dying' . "I went back on and, at the end of the show, I said, 'If you believe in such things, please remember Eric in your prayers. Heâs not well.'
"Happily he recovered and six weeks later he was in a meeting with some journalists. "One of them said, 'Are you aware Des OâConnor asked his entire audience to pray for you?' Eric said, 'Well, those six or seven people probably made a difference'."
Didnât being the butt of everybody elseâs jokes for a good few decades rankle at times?
âWhat did hurt me a little bit was when my kids told me they were getting sweets and stale bread thrown at them with people shouting, âYour dadâs rubbish.â
I remember phoning Eric one day and saying, âOne of my fans is very upset.â He said, âLet me talk to the other one.â We laughed and then he said, âIâll tell you what, on Saturdayâs show Iâll say something nice about you.â I said, âOK.â
âSo that Saturday Eric said, âPeople are saying Des and I are enemies. He came to my daughterâs wedding. Do you hear that? He came to my daughterâs wedding. He wasnât invited, but he came.â
'I thought, âYou so-and-soâ but you couldnât get angry with Eric. It was only when other people did the jokes that it rankled. They werenât as funny as Eric so I didnât welcome them, but what can you do? You have to laugh at yourself.

Reports that he was in relatively great spirits and health until he was admitted to hospital and they worked their usual magic and he never lasted a week such is their near 100% record with care for the elderly.

I notice Mike Winters died in 2013. I don't know how Bernie's dog Schnorbitz is though. Must be around 50 years old.

Mike Yarwood not dead. He retired many years ago when he developed stage fright.
Stanley Baxter recently came out of the closet, but I think everyone knows he is gay.
Poor old Des O'Connor didn't look at all well a year or two ago outside the Palladium at some function. Tommy Steele who was with him looked spritely and is still with us. He looks amazing for his age.
RIP Des.
